About Us
Fleming Flamingos was formed by Terrie-Ann Broomfield, Xin Wen, and Peggy Wong in 2022. The team motto is "The best way to predict your future is to create it".
Terrie-Ann Broomfield
Applications Specialist
Terrie-Ann considers herself a student of sorts, because she is always learning a new skill or adapting to a new culture. She graduated from the University of Technology, Jamaica with a BSc. (Hons) in Land Surveying with a minor in Geographic Information Science. She found herself working in the construction industry over the past 3 years in fields of building surveying and drafting, project management, and pre-construction estimating. She is now focused on completing her Post Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Systems Applications.
Xin Wen
Cartographic Specialist
Xin graduated from the University of Toronto in 2021, with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Human Geography, with minor in GIS and City Studies. She has extensive experience in GIS and has been using GIS software for 5 years. She is passionate about geography and sees her future carrer in GIS industry. She has over 2 years of customer service experience and has previously worked in the telecommunication industry and the beauty industry. She is currently pursuing a Post Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information System Cartographic Specialist at Fleming College.
Peggy Wong
Applications Specialist
Peggy completed the Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in Psychology and Sociology at University of Alberta in 2018, and she will be completing the Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Systems at Fleming College this year. Coming from a Social Science background, she is passionate in using GIS to find solutions for social problems and make this world a better place. She enjoys reading books, playing games, and learning new languages in her spare time. Also a cat lover.
